We like to think ahead and help our customers with decision making, especially in these last few months of the year, since this is when our most loyal, serious customers, like TSCM operators, ask the same question: What can we buy with this year's budget? And when can it be shipped, what is the "real" deadline?
This guide will help you decide a few important things. Firstly, everybody has a different budget, so based on our experience we made three ideal segments, from professional detection kits to spectrum analyzers and REI, used by government and corporate TSCM teams that need end-user letters.
This is a buying guide for professional counter surveillance equipment with a 31 December deadline, because we do work between the holidays and keep our equipment in stock at all times. If it is not in stock, let us know and contact us straight away, because we can, based on your country, give you a delivery date within a reasonable time. It is always best to check with our sales department directly rather than assume a long delivery time, since we work between the holidays regularly.
TSCM equipment for a year-end budget, in short. Detection equipment (RF detectors, lens detectors, NLJDs and spectrum analyzers) is defensive and ships across the EU, UK and worldwide without an end-user letter, except for REI. An RF detector tells you a signal is there; a spectrum analyzer shows every signal in the room, so it belongs with an operator who will be trained. Only an NLJD finds a device that is switched off or not transmitting, which is why it is the one purchase that changes what a sweep finds.
A tier 1 detector kit sweeps a boardroom in 45 to 60 minutes; with an NLJD and spectrum analyzer the same room takes two to three hours; REI equipment covers a suite of rooms in half a day. Anti surveillance equipment, counter surveillance equipment and TSCM equipment are three names for the same category, all in our Counter Surveillance category. Order between 21 and 24 December for delivery in the last week of the year.
This guide is written for security managers, TSCM operators and in-house teams who already know what they are protecting and need to know only how to fit their budget to their needs: corporate security managers, executive protection teams, TSCM operators and law enforcement procurement. You already run or commission sweeps. You want counter surveillance equipment with the specification, the price and the stock position in one place, and you do not need the vocabulary explained. The first and second tiers are very user-friendly; even if you are not very familiar with this type of equipment, you will learn quickly, and some equipment also has free training available after purchase.
If you have never swept a room and are starting from zero, read Bug Detectors That Find What Amateur Sweeps Miss first. It covers the entry-level detectors and the first sweep. This guide starts one step after that.
Everything below is professional equipment that is normally on a manufacturer lead time. We hold it in stock in Rijeka, which is the point of this guide: in December, availability is the specification that matters. Every price is the price on our site on the day of publishing, excluding VAT.
The entry point to professional counter surveillance equipment is a kit, not a single detector. A kit covers RF transmitters and camera lenses in one case, with the antennas and accessories that a sweep actually needs. Above the kits sit the current generation of handheld detectors that see 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and the millimetre-wave bands that older detectors miss.
This is where most of the equipment we ship to corporate security teams sits, and all four devices below are in stock. It adds the two capabilities a detector cannot offer: finding a device that is not transmitting, and seeing every signal in the room rather than the strongest one. The first is the non-linear junction detector (NLJD), and it is the single purchase that changes what a sweep can find: a recorder with no transmitter, a GSM bug that only wakes when called, a camera writing to a card.
At the top sits REI TSCM equipment, the Research Electronics International range used by government and corporate TSCM teams. REI is the one range we do not hold on the shelf: every REI order needs an end-user letter, and the equipment ships once it is approved. In December that is an advantage, not an obstacle. If you start the end-user letter now and it is approved before the year closes, the equipment is paid from this year's budget, with delivery following in January. You keep the budget and get the equipment; the only thing that moves to next year is the box.

The two orders below are composites of calls we take every year, and the mistake in each one is the same mistake the economists found: the deadline picks the product.
There are even studies made about it. Economists have a name for what happens to budgets in December: the year-end spending spike. Liebman and Mahoney measured it at 4.9 times normal weekly spending in US federal agencies, and found the projects bought in that week were two to six times more likely to be rated poor. Keloharju found Finnish municipalities push 22.4 percent of their annual investment purchases into December. Nobody has measured it for corporate security budgets, but we have watched it for many Decembers and the pattern is the same.
A head of security at a manufacturing group calls on the 15th. He has the rest of the year's budget left and wants "the best spectrum analyzer we have". We ask who on his team has used one. Nobody. We ask when they last swept the boardroom. Eighteen months ago, by an outside firm.
The best spectrum analyzer we have would have been in his building by the 19th and in its case until an outside firm opened it. What we sold him instead was a WAM-X25+, an EDD-24T, and a date in February for the two-day REI course. This way they got everything they actually needed on time, and right away made the upgrade to the correct analyzer part of next year's budget.
A facilities director at a law firm sends three products from our site and asks which is the sensible middle option: the Advanced RF and Lens Detection Kit, the CAM-GX5, and the WAM-X25+. She has picked the CAM-GX5 because it is the middle price. The CAM-GX5 is a cellular monitor. It is excellent at finding phones and GSM bugs and it does not look at Wi-Fi at all. Her threat, in a law firm with guest Wi-Fi in every meeting room, was a Wi-Fi recorder.
She bought the Advanced RF and Lens Detection Kit alone. The CAM-GX5 is already part of it, together with the WAM-X10+ and the WEGA-i camera lens detector: cellular, Wi-Fi and optics in one case, for a quick but professional sweep all together, which is exactly what she needed. The WAM-X25+ stays on her list as the upgrade when the budget allows it.
For all EU and UK addresses, delivery after a working-day purchase is 24 hours, or up to two days if the order lands on a weekend. Keep in mind that this season both Christmas and New Year fall on a Friday. To be absolutely sure that payment and delivery are made on time, make your purchase between 21 and 24 December, so it is at your door the following week, 28 to 31 December. Everything ships by DHL Express.
We do not control customs in any country. The only reason to add extra days is if you know your customs can be difficult to pass on those dates.
On 13 October 2026 the US Department of Justice charged a 35-year-old OpenAI engineer with intercepting oral communications after a listening device was found in the company's executive conference room. According to the Justice Department and OpenAI, the device was placed around 28 September and found on 30 September; a second device was found in the employee's bag. The engineer had no authority to enter the room. He faces up to five years in prison.
Two days in the room, hidden in toilet paper, planted by someone with a staff badge. That is the current shape of the threat, and it is why the NLJD in tier 2 matters: a recorder with no live transmission is invisible to an RF detector and visible to an NLJD. If you want the detail, how an NLJD finds a device that is switched off is explained in our NLJD guide.
