REI TALAN Training – TSCM Course in Europe
This one-day
TALAN 3.0 training course held in EU provides detailed and practical instructions on testing and analyzing telephone and communication lines for technical surveillance threats. Participants will learn how to operate the REI TALAN 3.0 Telephone and Line Analyzer and understand how it is used to identify weak points and suspicious activity in phone systems.
The course is designed for technical security professionals who are interested in learning to operate the TALAN 3.0 and who need to protect sensitive communications within wired or digital telephone systems.
What the course covers
Participants will learn how telephone systems function, where they can be vulnerable, and how to test them using professional inspection methods. The training includes both theoretical background and practical exercises.
Key topics include:
Characteristics and common vulnerabilities of telephone system
Procedures for technical eavesdropping defence testing
Core testing methods, including:
- Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR)
- Voltage and resistance (Ohm) testing
- Digital demodulation and audio detection
- Non-Linear Junction Detection (NLJD) on communication lines
Security procedures and analysis in digital telephony
Practical line testing and hands-on exercises
Basic methods for checking and assessing VoIP systems
Course outcome
By the end of the training, participants will understand how to test telephone and data lines for technical threats with TALAN 3.0, recognize potential vulnerabilities, and confidently use the REI TALAN for structured line analysis and inspection.
Notes:The training is held EU.
The course fee includes lunch catering as well as coffee and refreshment breaks during the day. Travel and hotel costs are not included.
