ESKAN-LICA 4 is a compact NLJD designed to find hidden electronic devices in any operational state.

The Lica 4 from Eskan is a professional non-linear junction detector that detects hidden electronic devices even when they are powered off, not transmitting, or hard-wired.

Lica 4 can detect devices such as SIM cards and mobile phones and find them in walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures, furniture, or containers. It is a counter-surveillance search tool aimed at close-range physical inspection in offices, meeting rooms, and any similar areas.

How does it work? Unlike normal RF detectors, which detect signal transmission, the Lica 4 detects the presence of semiconductor components such as diodes, transistors, and microchips, which are included in all electronic devices. Lica 4 NLJD emitts a probing signal in the 2–3 GHz band and analyzes the reflected signal, because the semiconductor components send back a different response from ordinary metal or corrosion, so you can distinguish electronics from false returns. This makes it an essential tool for TSCM professionals, security teams, law enforcement, and technical inspection specialists.

Eskan Lica 4 offers both automatic and manual modes, allowing you to adapt sensitivity and detection behavior depending on the environment in which it is used.

It shows the information on a 3.3" TFT display, with an additional three 16-segment display elements, while audio can be heard via the internal speaker or headphones. Lica 4 NLJD is small and compact, designed for field use. Additionally, the model is available with extended handle for detecting in hard-to-reach areas.

Eskan Lica 4 Non Linear Junction Detector Feature Focus:

NLJD for detection of electronics in any state

The LICA 4 is made to find electronic devices regardless if they are powered on, off, passive, or hard-wired. This type of device is needed for use alongside RF detectors. With the LICA 4, even completely inactive threats, such as hidden recorders, passive phones, or GPS tracking devices which send out data very rarely, can still be identified through their physical electronic components.

Low false alarms with advanced semiconductor identification

One of the main features for LICA 4 is its ability to distinguish real electronic circuits from non-threatening materials. By analyzing harmonic responses, the detector separates semiconductor-based components, like microchips and transistors, from common false positives such as metal structures, corrosion, or oxidized surfaces. This significantly improves accuracy during inspections.

Scanning with manual and automatic modes

The device offers both automatic and manual operation, giving you full control over detection sensitivity and behavior. Automatic mode simplifies quick sweeps, while manual mode allows experienced users to fine-tune the sensitivity (up to 40 dB range) for challenging environments, such as dense office spaces or complex structures. This flexibility makes the LICA 4 suitable for both quick inspections and detailed technical searches.

Real-time visual and audio feedback

The LICA 4 provides clear feedback to ensure detection. A 3.3" TFT display with graphical interface is combined with three 16-segment indicators for instant visual interpretation, while audio signals can be monitored via the built-in speaker or headphones. This dual feedback system allows you to quickly recognize and check potential threats during scanning.

Eskan Lica 4 NLJD FAQs:

What is the ESKAN LICA 4 used for?
The ESKAN LICA 4 is a non-linear junction detector (NLJD) used to locate hidden electronic devices. It is primarily used in counter-surveillance (TSCM), security inspections, and technical searches to detect concealed electronics inside structures or objects.

Can the LICA 4 detect devices that are turned off?
Yes. The LICA 4 is specifically designed to detect electronic components regardless of their operational state, meaning it can locate devices that are powered off, inactive, shielded, or not transmitting any signal.

How is it different from a standard RF detector?
Unlike RF detectors that identify active signal transmissions, the LICA 4 detects semiconductor components such as microchips and transistors. This allows it to find non-transmitting or dormant devices that RF detectors cannot detect.

What types of devices can it detect?
The LICA 4 can detect a wide range of hidden electronics, including mobile phones and SIM cards, audio recorders and transmitters, GPS tracking devices, or embedded circuit boards.

Where can the LICA 4 be used?
It is designed for close-range physical inspections and can be used to scan: walls, ceilings, floors, furniture and fixtures, office spaces and meeting rooms, vehicles, containers, and packages.

Does the device produce false alarms from metal objects?
The LICA 4 minimizes false alarms by distinguishing semiconductor materials from metal or corrosion. This significantly improves detection accuracy compared to basic detection tools.

What is the operating frequency of the LICA 4?
The device operates in the 2–3 GHz frequency range, transmitting a probing signal and analyzing harmonic reflections to identify electronic components.

What is the difference between automatic and manual modes?
Automatic mode is ideal for quick and easy scanning. Manual mode allows users to adjust sensitivity (up to 40 dB) for more precise inspections in complex environments.

How does the user receive detection alerts?
The LICA 4 provides both visual and audio feedback: visual data via a 3.3" TFT display and 16-segment indicators or audio alerts through an internal speaker or headphones.

Is the LICA 4 suitable for professional use?
Yes. The LICA 4 is built for professional applications, including use by TSCM specialists, security teams, law enforcement, and technical inspection personnel who require reliable detection of hidden electronic threats.
